Dear Tom Brady,
Tom. Thomas. Mr. Brady. Eventually, some will come to call you, the G.O.A.T. It’s no secret that you are quite possibly the greatest football player to ever play the quarterback position. You will go down as a legend in this game, whether it is merited or not, all of which is up for debate. Your career has been filled with wins, losses, accolades, MVP’s and more importantly, championships. So much so, that you’ve surpassed and supplanted the previous great, Joe Montana. There is no doubt that you’ve accomplished so much in this game of football. Like I stated earlier, all of that is and will be up for debate. But, that is not why I am writing you this letter. In fact, I personally admire everything that you have come to accomplish in your football career.

Guys! It’s finally here! Super Bowl week is upon us and I am happy as a clam. I’ve waited fourteen long years to see the Eagles get back to the big dance. Not only that, they have a chance to avenge that loss back in 2004 against the New England Patriots. Now don’t get me wrong, my enthusiasm is marred by cautiousness.
I mean, let’s be real here, we are playing against arguably one of the best quarterbacks to ever don shoulder pads and quite possibly one of the greatest teams of this decade, if not century in the New England Patriots. So yes, the odds are stacked against my birds. I don’t care much for you haters, but can you imagine what it would be like if we won though? If the Eagles can pull off this upset, I think the city of Philadelphia will explode (literally and figuratively), racism will end in Philly, I will probably cry, the sun, moon and stars will have aligned in some sort of equinox, and world peace would be achieved across the world.
I know world peace wouldn’t be brought across the world, its hyperbole speak. Nonetheless, the enthusiasm and excitement will definitely be real. For me, this Super Bowl will be one for the ages. Whether the Eagles win, lose or draw, I will be rooting as hard as I can. This NFL season has been an odd one to say the least. When the dust settles, and all the controversies are amiss, I can only hope to finally say, “The Eagles are SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS”! So, here’s to an awesome and competitive Super Bowl. Whomever you are rooting for, please, pray that the Patriots shit a brick and the Eagles come out victorious!
Imagine for a minute, if you will. You’re at your school dance. You’re having a blast doing whatever kids do at dances and in come this beautiful person; I mean absolutely gorgeous human being you have ever laid eyes upon. Your whole world slows down, palms sweaty, heart is racing, pupils dilated and hormones raging. Continue reading A Fan’s Plight
Although, the beginning of the podcast started off a mess, the rest of the podcast went pretty smoothly from there. We began to find our footing a little and talked about the day’s topic “Rape” and “Gender Roles”. We started the conversation talking about our opinions on the #metoo and the #timesup movement. We talked about how despicable the act of rape is, and then went on to talk about the double standards of rape between men and women. In which we discussed that if a man if raped, society looks down upon him and pretty much calls into question, his manhood. Yet, if a woman is raped, the perpetrator is demonized regardless of innocence. As a result of this discussion, at about the seventeen minute mark we begin to shift into the stereotypical gender roles for both men and women. This conversation goes on for another seventeen minutes. We go on to take a break at about the thirty-three minute mark and brought in a female perspective on the subject. When we returned from break, Andy shared an interesting statistic with us and posed a question to our female cohost. Our female cohost goes on to answer the question she and Andy had an interesting back and forth for about fifteen minutes. The conversation then transforms into another conversation of gender roles for another eight minutes. The show goes on to close with Andy’s final thoughts on the topic discussion as well as our female cohost.
Even though the conversation started off clunky, we rebounded well in the middle and end. As stated before, this topic was a bit touchy and tad bit controversial, but we need these types of conversations to happen in order to grow mentally. I think we tackled this subject matter really well and hopefully we can grow from this and deliver better content for you guys.
I find it quite interesting that there are many blogs, videos, and streams talking about what a woman should do in a relationship when it comes to dealing with men’s negative/positive behavioral patterns. Yet, I rarely see or read anything about what a man should do about a woman’s negative/positive behavior when it comes to relationships.
Why is that? Well, I’ve pondered this question for a good bit and after doing some pseudo research, it is my belief that that market for women looking to find answers about what to do with their “no good” man vastly outnumbers men’s desires to understand women.
See, the only people that seem to understand women are other women; and they have a hard time liking each other. You know what though? Maybe it’s time for men to start challenging the shitty behaviors of women in a relationship. Let’s be honest here, if a relationship is supposed to be a “50/50 partnership”, how come it almost always falls on the man to be “perfect” or “he has to change” in the relationship?
Meanwhile, the female has a ton of leeway to do as she pleases. You can literally type into Google, “how to tell if my man is a good man”, “how to make my man do what I want”, “how to tell if a man is doing this or that” and receive a ton of feedback. Yet, if you flip the question around and replace “men” with “women”, your search results are more likely to be few and far in-between. If we are supposedly in an era of “post-modern feminism” where woman are just as capable as men, then why don’t we hold women to equal if not a higher standard in a relationship?
Sure, some of you may read this and get upset at the fact, I’m challenging the status quo. To that I say, go ahead and bitch. But if we are going to be honest and keep things equal and fair, you women need to step your game up too! There are plenty of things that women do wrong in a relationship that needs to be addressed. So why are we ignoring these acts?
Feel free to share your opinions and thoughts in the comment section. I would love to hear what you have to say about this topic.
As time progresses, so do we as people. With each turn of the calendar year, we reflect on the year past and try to openly and honestly evaluate ourselves. We try to see where we are as individuals and make the necessary changes. I being of sound mind and body am not excluded from this yearly ritual. As we enter the new year, I realized that I have come a long way as an individual. I’ve opened up a lot more about myself. I’ve found a wonderful girlfriend who keeps my ass in check. I’ve stepped out of my bullheaded thinking that I don’t need a ground game in MMA in order to be good. Continue reading Change is Good
I’ve spent all day trying to write about fear and growth and you know the fucked up shitty part? I’m afraid of writing about it. I’ve tried, I’ve written and erased, I’ve talked out loud, I’ve asked for advice but it all keeps coming back to the same thought , “can I do this?”. Talk about irony, right. You into fitness? Yeah, fitness this whole pizza into my mouth! As funny as that joke is, a lot of the views on fitness has dwindled to simple memes and catchy punchlines. Meanwhile, looking into the severity of the situation, we have an entire country facing an epidemic of overweight and obese citizens. Which, by the way, is something we shouldn’t laugh at. When we venture outside of the United States, we can see that other countries are in vastly better physical condition than we are. Why is that? Well, for starters, the quality of food overseas is exponentially better than what we have in our country. You know why, because they have never deep fried an oreo. That and they also walk, bike, or jog to many of their destinations.
Looking into the technical definition of what fitness is, we come to see that fitness is the condition of being physically fit and healthy. I’m gonna be honest with you, being “physically fit” is nothing more than a marketing ploy in an attempt to empty your wallets to these supplement companies, and a lifetime of unused gym memberships. Now, don’t get it twisted, there is such a thing as being overweight and obese. Personally, I would define being fit as being able to take out the trash, wash your dishes and walk to your car and still be able to sing along with Justin Bieber.
