Pokemon TCG: Adventure – Part 1

Every Tuesday I will be posting a weekly look into the Pokemon TCG: Adventure; an RPG/TCG hybrid I created with the help of my wife and sister.

In part 1 I will go through the general rules.

A few weeks ago Vlad and I got into a podcast and I happened to talk about this concept. You can listen back to that here.

Anyway, let’s get into the general rules of the game.

To start each game, you must first select a “Professor Oak.” That person will basically be the person in charge of the game. Similar to a Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons.

That person will give each player 3 Pokemon to choose from to select their starter Pokemon.

After selecting their starting Pokemon, Professor Oak will put out two “maps” that lead to the town.

To see some pictures of this concept, check out our tweet.

Historic week for McMahon and WWE

The last seven days for Vince McMahon and WWE has been nothing short of phenomenal. From the 25th Anniversary of Raw and XFL announcement to an incredible pair of night’s with NXT and the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia to even the lows of Enzo Amore’s rape allegations. It’s been a historic week for McMahon and the WWE.

Let’s start off with a review of one of my favorite events of the year, the Royal Rumble.

The WWE title match kicked off the main card with AJ Styles defending in a handicapped match against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. The three did a great job telling the story of Styles’ uphill battle throughout.

The finish set the stage for this story to continue in some fashion after AJ Styles pinned Kevin Owens despite Sami Zayn being the legal man.

Pokemon TCG: How I got back into collecting

NOTE: I guess I forgot to include Pokemon Go as a reason, too. That came BEFORE my nephew showed me the Evolutions cards.

About a year and a half ago I got hooked back into collecting Pokemon cards when they released the Evolutions set. My nephew had some packs and opened them up and I saw they looked just like the original cards that I enjoyed 20+ years ago in my early teens.

I was immediately interested. Nostalgia is a funny thing. The way it takes you back in time to your childhood.

Not long after starting to collect again, my wife and I decided to go back and find our old cards. We were thrilled to find we still had the original base set Charizard, Blastoise and Venusuar. We also had a handful of others as well, but those were the “Holy Grail” of collectors 20-years ago.
